Not feeling super lucid right now, so it’s hard for me to reflect on the year for the purposes of a post like this. The good news is, I don’t think anyone was waiting for it! It’s nice to be off the hook!

Christmas Eve
Two sheets of delicious chewy oatmeal cranberry cookies, plus enough leftover dough to scoop out a few more batches the following day. The KitchenAid mixer made short work of prep (I really need to get one of those after I move), and the walnuts and allspice filled the kitchen with the most amazing scent.

I finally managed to fall asleep this morning, passed out sitting propped up as I was. When I stirred several hours later, I noticed that someone (my mom?) had come in quietly, placed my dog in my bed, and turned off the TV and lights for me. :’)

I’m on vacation, Internet! Heading back to my hotel after a few days of soaking up the sun (hahaha, it is a funny) in lovely North Jersey, exploring cities and towns along the Hudson, eating good food and being charmed by enchanting places and kind people.

I think the best model I can conceive of right now for the workings of my stomach is one of those blower bins full of ping-pong balls that they use on TV to draw the winning lotto numbers.
This metaphor may seem funnier to me than it actually is because I took some Dramamine tonight and it’s making me WAY loopier than it probably should.
