Christmas Eve
Two sheets of delicious chewy oatmeal cranberry cookies, plus enough leftover dough to scoop out a few more batches the following day. The KitchenAid mixer made short work of prep (I really need to get one of those after I move), and the walnuts and allspice filled the kitchen with the most amazing scent.

I’m just here to report that I made it to Florida without being involved in a terrible multi-car pileup on I-95, in spite of a few bouts of torrential rain and my fellow drivers’ best efforts. If I didn’t have something to be thankful for before, I do now. Lord.
And as a related aside, can I just say: whenever I come back to this state, I remember exactly why I left.
